Meet Riley, She loves her toys is balls or chewy balls, she loves belly rubs and company (her humans). She’s very bright and picks up her training very quickly.
Riley is looking for a dedicated and experience handler who an continue her reactivity behavioural training and keep her mentally stimulated. Riley would thrive in a home with a job to keep her mind busy. She will need someone who can commit to extensive walks and mental stimulation as she is a very high energy dog and needs a secure garden and multiple daily walks.
Riley is an amazing dog with lots of love to give in the right home. It needs to be channelled in the right way. She's a very quick learner, although not very food motivated but definitely toy/ball motivated. She is also very clever and can open doors so they all need to remain locked at all times, her family will need to be vigilant around this.
Riley can be reactive to people first entering the home, she will settle down eventually once she has learnt they are safe, she needs lots of reassurance from her family. Once settled Riley is an incredibly loving dog and wants to be with you all the time and have your attention and affection. She wants to please.
Riley has never been around children and due to her anxious behaviours it is felt an Adult only home would be best for her.
Riley needs a dog free home.
Riley cannot live with cats due to her high prey drive.
Riley accepts a collar, harness and lead. She has also recently began using a halti to allow her owner more control while on walks as she can be very strong especially when reacting. She will need a very active home who can do multiple walks a day and lots of mental stimulation to keep her mind busy. She will also need someone who can handle her strength.
Riley is also reactive towards other dogs while on walks, she does well in quieter areas.
Riley loves playing fetch with a ball but she does bite and chew it a lot. Her recall has been improving in the garden and her owner makes her work while on walks to keep her mentally stimulated. Lots of heel, stay, close, change direction etc which gets her thinking and focused on the task.
Riley is fully toilet trained. Riley is now crate trained and improved on her seperation anxiety so can be left alone for a few hours with no issues. Riley can show guarding behaviours around her toys which have previously caused her to attack the resident dog. She can become stressed in the car and will bark and cry until she eventually settles.
