Description

UNBONDED , UNSPAYED. WILL NOT BE LIVING IN HUTCHES. PRICING MAY CHANGE. I’m unfortunately having to make this post due to a list of changes in circumstance. Both currently on Burgess Excel Adult Rabbit pellets. — Haybox subscribed first cut timothy hay. Brand is unimportant but the greener the better. Fully vaccinated and health up to check, both unspayed and not housed together. My giant lop mix, Flopsy, was a temporary self rescue and foster. However, I am also listing my other furbaby, Tallulah on here as well. THEY ARE NOT TOGETHER. Flopsy is a 4y/o mix breed giant lop rabbit. She is extremely curious and adventurous, as well as friendly and outgoing. She will need constant engagement in terms of activities, toys, and forage as she tends to become destructive when bored. She loves her 4am zoomies, especially speeding in and out of her tunnel. She can be either indoor/outdoor, as she was housed outdoors for most of her years of her life, albeit in an unsuitable hutch. She is a very active rabbit, and she needs a large space to run around, with a few good places to hide. Either a suitable sized x-pen OR an outside shed with an attached run would be appropriate for her. Whilst fostering her, she has been living in a large x-pen with supervised free roam time, although due to her destructive tendencies it is preferable that she either has a rabbit-proof room, or a SECURE x-pen she cannot lift up and wriggle under, placed away from any high surfaces/shelves with valuable objects. She is an escape artist! I am quite confident that she could thrive alone, however I recommend spaying her and attempting to bond with a neutered male rabbit, as she has (unfortunately) been housed/bonded with a male rabbit before. Because of this, she has had two litters in the past, and should not be bonded until spayed and fully recovered. She is EXTREMELY territorial, as rabbits are, so this is an absolute necessity. Furthermore, due to her age, she is in the age group where she could potentially develop reproductive cancers, and spaying would completely remove chances of this. Despite being unspayed, she has a natural preference (normal in rabbits) to do her business in one spot, so she is very easily litter trained. Spaying will of course improve this. Flopsy is very sociable and has been raised around kids. Because of her past living conditions, she is very numb to any kind of loud noises, predatory animals, etc. but I don’t advise putting predator and prey together. She is great around kids and does not bite, however, be mindful that rabbits are not kid’s pets, and a long-term commitment. No child should be left responsible for them. She does not enjoy being picked up or restrained, so nail trimmings aren’t the easiest with her. She is very smart and food motivated, and loves any kind of puzzle/enrichment activity at meal times. She enjoys a fresh salad of herbs, romaine lettuce, and sometimes a fruit treat. !VEGGIES ONLY EVERY COUPLE DAYS! — She is prone to bloat because of improper diet as a younger rabbit, it could seriously mess up her gi system if this is altered. Any changes to her diet will have to be gradual. ——————————————————— Tallulah is an 18 month old lionhead (potential mix) rabbit. She is a gorgeous little sweetheart and will need a gentle owner who accepts that she is not very affectionate in terms of being picked up and cooed over. She is a generally lazy rabbit, however if powered up with lettuce she will zoom, hop, and binky about the place like theres no tomorrow. I have had her since she was 4 months old, and within that time my care has improved immensely. It takes her a while to open up, however when she does, she greatly appreciates the opportunity to have a large area to explore with plenty of tunnels and hides throughout. She has never been housed outdoors, and she will not be going to a home where she will be permanently situated outdoors either. Despite this, a summertime run can be great for supervised time in the garden. An outdoor shed would be suitable, providing it is weather-proofed, insulated, and large enough for her to display natural behaviours. If indoors, -which is preferable - again, a rabbit-proofed room with plenty of enrichment, tunnels, hides etc would be great, OR an x-pen with those same features. She could be free roamed, however this can be un-ideal in some homes depending on circumstances. She has never been a lone rabbit, and will absolutely need to be spayed and bonded with another rabbit in her future home. Currently, she is in side-by-side pens with her littermate (who we unfortunately found out to be a boy through a vet checkup), and enjoys the comfort of knowing there is another bun with her, as she becomes stressed when alone. She would thrive with any sort of dynamic, as she has been in a baby-bond quad situation before, but she prefers to be the dominant one. Like Flopsy, she is a sexually matured rabbit meaning she could also potentially develop reproductive cancers - so spaying is also urgent. She isn’t as litter trained as Flopsy, she would need a little more patience with spot cleanings and such, but again, after her spay she will pick it up properly. Tallulah is a very gentle-hearted rabbit, and will require patience from her new owner as she is weary of new people. She is also very sassy, and will absolutely protest when shes angry at something. (waiting for her breakfast gets her really mad — she hates it!) Despite her tendency to not trust easily, she is an absolute sweetheart and loves a good stroke. She will need to be groomed weekly. She is insanely smart and again, food motivated. She knows the command spin (sometimes needs to be lured) and she loves any kind of enrichment toy for mealtimes. VEGETABLES ARE NOT IN HER DIET — they would have to be reintroduced VERY SLOWLY. she can thrive without. Genuine enquiries only please!
