🐶 Meet Buddie, a 2-year-old small boy (Patterdale x Yorkie) with a gentle spirit and a longing for stability. He’s just 6 kg, but his journey has been heavy with hardship. Found in terrible condition, covered in fleas and open wounds, Buddie was silently suffering for far too long—until Paw Help stepped in.
He is now safe and healing, and ready to come home for good.

Rescue Story:
💔 Buddie’s family had him from 8 weeks old. When they surrendered him, they claimed he had “a bit of hair loss due to fleas.” But what our foster saw left us heartbroken. He was covered in hundreds of fleas, with open wounds, infected skin, and an unbearable smell of infection. This wasn’t recent—it was long-standing suffering. Despite the pain, Buddie sat quietly, used to being ignored.
He lived in a house with a child, cats, kittens, and another dog. We can only imagine what the other animals endured. But for Buddie—we made it. We got him out. He went straight to the vet. Flea-treated, wound care started, booked in for neuter and vaccinations. The vet said: “He’s going to be absolutely fine.” And already, he’s looking and feeling better.
Detailed Information:
🐶 Buddie is now in foster care and slowly revealing the happy dog underneath the hurt.
💙 He walks beautifully on the lead.
💙 Sleeps through the night in his own bed.
💙 Craves affection and human connection.
💙 Loves his treats, soft toys, and especially his comfy blanket.
🐶 He is housetrained, though when adjusting to new routines occasional accidents may happen. He’s a classic terrier in some ways—can squeeze through a cat flap!—but he’s also gentle, quiet, and eager to please.
🐶 He’s still learning how to be on his own—separation anxiety is real for him, so any home must be ready to work gently on building confidence and security, not leaving alone the first 2-3 weeks of settlement and gradually training after this.
🐶 He’s nervous around children and unpredictable around cats (if they run), so an adult-only or calm older-children home will suit best. While he lived with other pets before, the tension with the former household’s older male dog left its mark. We believe Buddie will flourish as the only pet, the centre of someone’s quiet, loving world.

He needs someone gentle, patient, and committed to helping him fully heal—physically and emotionally. He will give back everything tenfold: loyalty, softness, love, and his whole heart.
