Description
Pedro is settling into UK foster life and showing his gentle, sweet nature. Originally found wandering an industrial estate in Spain, this lovely boy is looking for a patient home that will help him continue building confidence and learning that the world is a safe place.
Pedro is a gentle and sensitive soul who enjoys the company of people and is already forming bonds with his foster family. He was timid at first when he arrived at the shelter, rolling onto his back when approached, but he’s now showing more confidence. Pedro is great with people and children, and while he was initially uncertain around other dogs, he’s beginning to learn from his foster buddy Doris and is showing more confidence during play and walks.
Behaviour and Training
Pedro is still under assessment, but he’s made wonderful progress. He’s been out on several walks with Doris, gaining confidence each time. Though his lead skills need work, he’s improving quickly.
Pedro is learning to take things in his stride. His foster says he loves his toys, especially his squeaky duck, and responds well to gentle guidance and plenty of treats.
Socialisation at a gentle pace will be key for Pedro, and he’s already shown he can stay calm and observant around other dogs at a distance.
Pedro has been enjoying his time in foster, exploring new sights and smells and learning to play with Doris. He’s a sweet-natured boy who’s quickly gaining confidence and showing his lovely character. He even let his foster trim his feathers with minimal fuss, and he handled a thorn in his paw bravely.
Pedro is two years old next month.
IDEAL HOME
Pedro would thrive in a patient, calm home where he can continue his journey of confidence-building. He would benefit from the company of another steady, friendly dog. A secure garden and a family committed to gentle socialisation will help Pedro blossom into a happy, relaxed companion.
