Orchid Mantis (Hymenopus coronatus) Nymphs – Stunning & Captivating
Widely regarded as one of the most beautiful insects in the world, the Orchid Mantis is an incredible species, well known for its striking appearance and fascinating behaviour.
These domestically bred nymphs are healthy, active and eating well. Currently being fed on fruit flies D. hydei, but at L4 will be transitioning to larger prey, e.g. house flies and small moths.
Photos show Orchid Mantis at various stages, as well as their adult male and female parents. All photos are my own and show either the actual nymphs that are currently available, or their parents at various stages. The nymphs have just moulted for a third time and are at L4 stage.
Please note: Gender is not guaranteed, however, indications are that I have 2 females and 5 males currently available.

Hatch and Growth Timeline:
🟢 Ootheca laid: 06/02/25
🟢 First nymphs (L1) hatched: 24/03/25
🟢 First moult to L2: between 04/04/25 and 06/04/25
🟢 Second moult to L3: between 15/04/25 and 18/04/25
🟢 Third moult to L4: between 02/05/25 and 06/04/25
Despatch or Collection:
📦 Special Parcel – Nymphs will only be dispatched via Royal Mail Special Service on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays to avoid weekend delays.

📍 Collection Available – You are welcome to collect in person from Cheltenham.
