Our darling Barney is looking for his forever home.
He needs someone with rescue dog experience, as he is a timid boy who will need time, patience, and understanding to come out of his little shell.
Barney came to us in April 2024 after we met him at Barlad Public Shelter. At the time, he was a social and confident boy. Sadly, due to lack of space, we had to reserve him for collection a month later... And in that short time something very obviously happened. When he arrived at our private foster shelter, Barney was shut down, very timid, and unsure of people.
We gave him as much time as possible, but there is only so much a dog can recover within a shelter environment. With new UK legislation regarding dogs with short tails coming into force, time was running out..... And we were very lucky to find him a foster home in the UK.
Barney arrived last week and is slowly starting to become curious about the world around him. He loves his crate, which he uses as a safe space, and will choose to retreat there when he feels overwhelmed.
He is good with other dogs, but he can be protective of his safe space, and could also be rehomed as an only dog.
Barney is 3 years old, and small/medium size, approximately 15 kg
He is looking for a quiet, adult only home with direct access to a secure private garden.
Due to Barney’s past and the time and patience he will need, we are not asking for an adoption fee! Only the right forever home where he can feel safe and secure.
