Description

Hi. This is Kane previously Franko. He is a 1 year old pure bred dobermann. We took him in at the beginning of july. He is a good dog with the potential to be great. Unfortunately he has been messed around in the last month going to lots of new homes so has still not really settled with us and may be the cause to many of his issues. He also came to us intact but we had him neutered on the 07/07 which will also help his behaviour improve. With a raving vet report about his health, temperament and structure. All of his faults are understandable but after an incident we can no longer keep him due to the safety of the other pets in the house. Which is making this very sad. He is still young, full of energy and needs boundaries. He can be stubborn and ignorant but this is due to not knowing us and part of this intelligent breed. Within the 11 days we have had him his behaviour has massively improved. All with repetitive training and boundaries. He is dog friendly, people friendly and can be touched all over. No fear of humans and no aggression. However, he can nip still whilst trying to get you to play and like all dobermanns barks for your attention. A young dog issue and lack of previous training. He has seperation anxiety. We have been working on this and he will come with his new crate to help with this training, aswell as plug in diffusers and crate bowls. He does settle eventually but hates being alone. This could be the fear of a new environment as he apparently was crated for up to 5 hours a day by his previous owner with no issues. The issue we are rehoming him for. We were advised he was good with cats and had lived with them previously. Even with careful introductions and repeated training and supervision. He has chased one of the cats whilst returning with the dog walker. The cat had been left out in the garden by accident and kane has chased her and grabbed the end of the tail causing the tail to be amputated by about a half. This has caused a serious issue of trust and made it an unsafe environment for the 4 cats in the house. Its also unfair to kane to keep him locked away to keep the cats safe. He needs a home where people are home alot or at least with the time to properly train him. Other dogs in the house would also be beneficial to help him feel secure and burn off his energy, he is already in love and grooming our older female malinois. But i would recommend absoloutely no cats or small animals!!! As i have said alot of his issues will be solved by simply being allowed to settle into a home and also now he is neutered as the testosterone leaves his body. I paid £1000 for kane, £400 for his neuter, £210 for the crate(its escape proof and large), plus not to mention his harnesses, flea and worm treatment, food, vet visits, abundance of toys and treats, diffusers and calming sprays. We had every intention of putting in the work and making him into the amazing dog he has the potential to be and this his forever home. We have put £2000 into this dog in less than 2 weeks! But we need to put the other pets safety first. Hence the asking price of £800 to also ensure he goes to a good home and recoup the neuter, crate and some other costs. He is kc registered but i was not given his paperwork only shown it. Contacting kc directly with proof of ownership and the details they can reissue the paperwork if you wish at your own cost. His pedigree name is on the chip profile.
