Description

Welcome Ernie out beautiful rommanian rescue. He was a previous street dog off the streets and has been with us a year and a half. He's 4 October 2025 Personality - chilled, pretty lazy, loves belly rubs and loves to follow his human everywhere. Easy to train as he's food obsessed. Not massive on playing fetch and doesn't understand what sticks are about but he's devoted to you and is a real people pleaser. Enjoys training and he understand the following commands : Sit In your bed (whilst you eat) Away Down - but of a counter surfer for crumbs Leave it Wait - waits for his food If I drop food on the floor he will now look to me for aproval to take it before he takes which is my proudest moment of training him. He's a mixed breed but we feel he's mixed with a kromforlander German terrier and some kind of shepherd. Pets insurance is easy for him insured as mixed breed. He's healthy, suffers with a bit of sensitive tum but fine on the food he's on if you don't chop and change it all the time and he's allergic to chicken and "animal deratives" which is on the back of cheap dog food and treats. Bit of a fussy eater so has dry dog food gelert country foods with a bit of wet mixed in for breakfast. He has some behavioural issues like any rescue of resource guarding his toys and did have food agression but that seems resolved with training. Will quite often leave the ball to swap for a tasy treat but isn't really suited to my 6 year old son personality wise and he's missing company of other dogs and isn't living his best life. He's super chilled and loves all other dogs so would want him to go ideally into a pack of say 4 mixed dogs Inc females with no children or young visiting children due to being a foodie. He has no jealousy issues with other dogs but does seem to be quite dominent with my son and is jealous of me giving my 6 year old attention hence the rehome, he's never had love before so I don't blame him. Put him in an adult only home and he will perfect for someone. He will usually attach himself to 1 particular person which is me. I'd say experience with rescues and their behaviours is necessary, experience in Romanian rescues even better. Needs a strict owner I'd say with consistency His recall is getting better and will follow other dogs in a pack but sometimes he's too busy sniffing to come back. He loves a sniff on walks and is a " I need to sniff and pee on everything kinda guy". He loves a belly rub and is always wanting strokes. He can be a bit reactive with cats on walks but stick his vibrate bark collar on for a week on walks and it will stop. Fully toilet trained Probably best to feed him seperate whilst he settles into a pack. I'm not sure he'd suit a home with another male dog only but possibly a female (not a puppy though) Any adoption needs to go back through the rescue I got him from moss mania as we have rescue back up with them to transfer over. They will do the standard home check and transfer of rescue back up after completing a adoption questionnaire. Feel free to contact myself or them. My boys name is Ernie but he's under the name Eric as we renamed them. Will not let him go to any home and home has to be suitable
