Description
This handsome little dude was reluctantly surrendered to us, by his loving owners - due to changes of their circumstances.
More details (including information from his previous family) - on request.
He was bought, as a puppy, from a breeder, by a previous owner - who then had an accident and rehomed him to the actual family.
He weighs around 17.5 Kg.
WOODY was micro-chipped and fully vaccinated. (All jabs are up-to-date).
He was neutered, too.
Here are some words from his family “
“Health issue : a slight Hip dysplasia in one hip. This is managed with Loxicom which costs £65 every few months.
Flea-ed and wormed regularly.
Woody could get in “conflict” with some people and/or some other dogs. These can be either due to resource guarding or them stroking his head (which he can be nervous of if he doesn't know the individual well or trust them). He is not resource guarding a lot, however, when he is stressed or in a different environment he can resource guard his space which is why he should have his own crate as a safe space.
WOODY isn't very comfortable with children and has growled at them in the past as the children in the family can be quite invasive and he doesn't like to be bothered for long periods of time especially if they aren't someone he's comfortable with.
His recall isn't always great. He has been attacked by other dogs on walks before which has given him anxiety and reactiveness to some dogs on walks. This is easily managed by distracting him with treats and has improved a lot. With some dogs he loves playing with them or running but other dogs he's nervous of and wants them to not bother him.
He is a very loving dog and we are so sad to have to part from him, however, I have anxiety and I am struggling to trust Woody around our child as she will be crawling soon and he can be nervous at times.
Woody loves learning new tricks. He knows all the standard commands and shake, roll over, play dead and spin. He enjoys play ball, tug of war, having his kong or snuffle mat.
He would really thrive in an adult only home as the only dog. Woody is the sweetest dog when he fully trusts you, he loves a stroke/scratch on his back and long walks or swims. We sadly can't be that for him anymore and desperately want to find a home that will give him lots of love and support.”
Friends InDeed is a registered Charity.
Home-Check (even done online, at times) is mandatory.
We do NOT supply dogs to non-genuine Dog-Loving people. There are all kind out there... can’t be too careful !
You must have your own garden and no children under 10 years old to adopt a dog from our rescue.
We do not supply work, assistance or service dogs, regardless of what noble/moral it would be !
Should you adopt him, WOODY will reside as a PET in your Home and he will be well looked-after and loved !
You will also agree to keep in touch with us - so we can help with any issues.
Our preferred method of contact is over the phone or WhatsApp - as we work during the day, with limited access to emails ; it is also more expedient - we can exchange most information in one go. If you would like, we can have a video-chat so you can see WOODY live, before meeting him.
We are a 100% genuine and transparent Rescue and are doing substantial efforts to save these lives. We are actively involved in neutering stray dogs and in finding Homes for them.
We reserve the right to ask any / different price / donation for our rescue dogs - depending on circumstances. In most cases, we are not covering the costs !
We keep in touch with all adopters (more than 500 families, so far). On request, we can obtain & provide good references from any of them.
We receive a high number of pointless messages or calls and we do not afford wasting time…
Therefore, Please, Please - NO TIMEWASTERS !
Thank You !
