Description
Caqui, our older male Pointer, has moved into UK foster and is doing so well. He loves humans and will happily potter around with you all day. He is good with the other dogs, but fairly independent, so we think he would suit a home with dogs or as an only dog. His foster mum describes him as a 10/10 dog – a complete star with the sweetest nature. Caqui is looking for a home without many stairs as this is the only thing that troubles his old legs.
His foster mum says “he’s your dream dog, gentle and loving, and too old to counter surf or jump onto the bed or sofa”
Caqui arrived in foster three months ago and immediately fitted in. He is a cheerful, optimistic and well-mannered boy, loving, gentle and affectionate with people, he already understands about living in a home; his housetraining and recall are great.
He is often the picture of patience, lying quietly while you prepare dinner and sitting politely to receive his meal. After a gentle stroll in the garden, he loves nothing more than stretching out in a sunny spot, preferably right by your side. Ever the gentleman, he’ll wait at the threshold of a room for you to enter first, stepping in only when invited. He’s quick to learn and happily relaxes on his bed while the other dogs head out for a long walk, knowing his turn will come. Caqui is on the lookout for a loving home with a warm, cosy bed — and plenty of cuddles!
We think he could live happily with confident cats, he loves car rides and is happy to be left alone for short periods. He is also a truly wonderful companion.
Caqui’s passport says his date of birth is 2/03/2007 which makes him 18 years old – we can’t quite believe he is that old, maybe 13 or 14 is nearer the mark. So how does such a gorgeous old Pointer end up in rescue? Caqui was given up because a landlady refused his owner to allow to keep a dog in the apartment. He had been adopted from the dog pound seven years ago but sadly his owner could no longer find a suitable apartment in the city that would allow a dog, and he had to go. Fortunately the wonderful ladies from AELA took him in rather than allow him to go back to the dog pound, and from there he moved to his uk foster home.
Caqui is an absolute sweetheart and just needs a comfy home, which is easy for an older dog. Unlike so many of our dogs he is already used to living in a home and is such an affectionate boy. Caqui’s story is waiting for its happy ending. If you believe you can provide the love and companionship he deserves, please get in touch. You’ll find, in Caqui, not just a pet, but a devoted friend for life.
