🐢 Loving Home Needed for Our Family Tortoise, Kiwi – Comes with Full Set-Up 🐢
This is a personal post:
It’s with very heavy hearts that we’re looking to rehome our beloved horsefield tortoise, Kiwi, due to an unexpected move. We’ve recently learned that our new rental wiĺl not vexcept him there, which came as a huge shock — especially as we only brought Kiwi into our lives on March 18th after years of careful research.
Kiwi was purchased from Reptile Zone in Bristol and is a happy, healthy little character. He still has ongoing support from Reptile Zone, including free beak and nail trims if ever needed.
This is incredibly hard on our daughter, who spent her own pocket money to help buy Kiwi for her birthday, and is absolutely heartbroken. The set-up was not cheap — we’ve spent well over £300 (£200 for Kiwi, £50 for the lighting, plus the enclosure, substrate, feeding equipment, and everything else needed). The full set-up is included — it’s ready to go, and fully equipped.

What We’re Looking For:
Someone with genuine tortoise knowledge and experience.
Someone who can come and meet Kiwi in person to ensure this is a genuine rehoming and not a scam.
A loving home that can give him the same care and attention we have.
We’re based in the Calne area of Wiltshire, and are open to visits. Due to the rise in online scams, any payment would need to be cash in hand. While finding the right home is our top priority, we are hoping to recover some of the costs to help provide our daughter with a replacement birthday gift in this incredibly tough situation.
We didn’t expect to be here — the only reason we’re moving is because my mother has suddenly lost her vision and needs to move in with us so we can care for and support her. Otherwise, we would never be giving Kiwi up.
