Description
Very happy chirpy sweet little pair, I bought about a year ago from a pet store based in London. I can't keep them anymore as I'm have changed jobs and have little time to be around them. They can both fly well. Please approach them slowly, talking softly to them, you will notice that they look directly at you when you speak to them. Please don't shout and no abrupt, sharp or fast movement around them as it will startle them and scare them. The green one's name is mango and the yellow one's name is nectar. I would advise that they be left to get used to the new environment before you put your hands close to them. I have found that they will sit easily on my finger when they are outside the cage, after having a good feed, they love apples and lettuce the most. Also they like a little bit of fresh grass seeds. They also eat the sweet red bell pepper, cucumber and seeds, of which they love sunflower seeds the most. As with every pet parakeet, be soft and patient with them, then they will warm upto you. Never grab, and make sure they are facing them you when you eventually offer your finger to sit on, don't come up to them with your hand from behind them. I started to tame them just by talking softly to them with my hands away from the cage. Then I slowly started to offer them food and water from a spoon. After that they slowly started eating from my hand, then after some time they would sit on my finger. I would prefer that before buying these little chirpy friends, the buyer would do some research so that they can be cared for properly.
