Description
2 cocker, springer, collie crosses For Sale
Siblings, preferably go together but can go separate.
It was an insanely difficult decision to have to make, we love them to pieces and have tried so hard to keep them however no one in our home has the time or energy to keep up with them and it’s unfair for this breed to be lacking in this much mental and physical stimulation.
They need someone who has experience with the breed or atleast understands and is prepared for the amount of work needed to be put in to spaniel Collies.
If taken separately then they will need seperation training as they’ve been together since birth.
They are both very used to neighbouring dogs barking constantly and loud noise from families around and neither have any reaction whatsoever.
They are both very intelligent and obedient, they want to please you, however they do need a lot more training. There extremely loving and energetic they just need to be able to use it so need rehoming asap, they’d do great on a farm or somewhere they can fully use and develop there brains and bodies. Please do not even consider messaging if you've not got the time, energy, patience and knowledge. These are babies and they deserve a permanent home that’s going to be committed to there needs.
Dex
Dexter is a very sweet loving boy, he’s immediately by your side watching you if your unwell or he suspects somethings wrong. He’s SUPER affectionate and just wants love and cuddles, he’ll jump up on the sofa and paw you for attention. He’s much more quiet and calm than fifi, We think he could have a bit of arthritis but are unsure, his back legs can get a little stiff sometimes and sometimes can be slower than the rest of the litter. Vets have checked however cannot see anything immediately wrong. He would be perfect in a family home or with one person to be his forever companion. Either way just lots of love! He’s absolutely fine with cats and not bothered. The breed is obviously such an excitable energetic breed however Dexter does show the much more calm side of it but has his mad times! Honestly such a sweet boy just needs to go to a home that has the time and love for him.
Training:
Walking-
His walking is perfect, he walks perfectly healed to you from the get go and wait for you to walk out the front door first. If he’s extra excited he can sometimes pull but as long as you continue correcting and do not give in he walks lovely.
His recalls fairly good, the only time it’s not so great is if there’s another dog he’s more interested in, he can get overly excited about some dogs and can also irritate them however he isn’t reactive or nasty in the slightest, he just wants to make friends with everyone, he is very submissive and fearful if ever conflict however still sometimes like to go back and annoy.
Toilet training-
Toilet trained and completely clean for 3 months.
Commands-
He knows sit, stay, catch, drop it, and take it for his food. He is very good with automatically sitting and waiting when his dinners being made and waiting to be told to take it.
Fifi
Fifi is honestly the most loyal girl. She is so owner focused wherever she is and just wants to please constantly. She will forever be right by your side as close as she possibly can be. And she just wants as much love as she can get. She would be very very easy to train if she had one on one training with her owner as she has such a high focus on you and is constantly trying to figure out what you want her to do. She would rather be by your side than off playing with other dogs. She’s insanely intelligent and she’s got bundles of energy that just keeps on going so any home she goes too would need to have the time and be committed to such an active life that properly stimulates her body and mind. She’s ok with cats, we have two at home, I can’t tell if she likes them or not, she has a natural prey drive which causes her to lock in and be unable to take eye contact off the cats when there around without a lot of distracting. She used to chase him across the room however has grown out of this. The longer we have had her the worse she’s been with the cat, attempted to snap the other day, and ability to distract her has been harder. So I would probably recommend no cats however I’m no expert on dogs or this breed and I’m sure somebody out there may be able to help train that out of her.
She’s reactive. I’m thinking it’s fear and anxiety causing her reactivity but again I’m no expert. She will lunge and chase and jump up at and bark at people she views as a threat. She’s got a lot better with this, and it is now only the odd person every now and then she does this with, but it has still been a really difficult thing to deal with and has meant she has to be on lead a lot of the time. She’s quite a fearful dog anyway, it has taken a while for her to be ok going near horses, cows etc and she’s only comfortable if your there with her- she may want to be carried, other times she’s fine. Honestly her personality changes on a daily basis and when you walk out that door you have no idea what fifi you’re going to get today.
Training:
Walking-
Fifi is walking perfectly most of the time but can have some days she’s not in the mood to comply and will pull, she will listen to you saying no however forgets after 5 seconds and pulls again. It just takes repeating many times and she eventually learns.
Her recalls like nothing I’ve ever seen before because of her owner focus being so great, she’s constantly got half an eye and an ear on you and comes excited immediately when she’s called, again she’d rather be by your side.
She’s also 9/10 times friendly with all other dogs but has sometimes been a little dominant and sometimes snapped, whether it’s male or female, puppy or adult.
Toilet training-
Toilet trained and completely clean for 3 months.
Commands-
She knows sit and stay, and take it for her food. She is also very good with that but can sometimes get carried away and over excited.
