Description
With a very heavy heart, we are looking to find a loving new home for our gorgeous dachshund, Woody.
Woody was born on 10th April. He is fully vaccinated and has been regularly wormed and treated for fleas.
He is a lovely, affectionate boy who absolutely loves walks, cuddles and playing with children. He is a real Velcro dog and loves being around his people, which is unfortunately why we feel our current circumstances aren’t giving him the time and attention he deserves.
Due to our busy schedules, Woody is left home alone quite a lot, and understandably he isn’t happy being on his own. We feel he would be much happier with a family or person who is home most or all of the day and can give him plenty of company, attention and interaction.
Woody is house trained and does his business outside. We do leave a puppy pad down for him when we’re out, just in case.
He is also a typical cheeky dachshund and loves clothes! So any new owner will need to keep clothing safely out of his reach as well as everything chewable because he will get it. He can also be a little destructive with his beds — he has a habit of ripping them up, so that’s something to be aware of! He does urine when he gets excited also.
We also need to be completely honest about Woody’s current situation around children. My son is severely autistic and stims frequently, which can sometimes cause Woody to nip him. Woody isn’t being aggressive or angry when this happens; he appears to think he’s playing. However, because of this, and because Woody needs close supervision around my son, we’ve made the difficult decision that rehoming is the safest and kindest option for everyone.
We believe Woody would thrive in a home where someone has lots of time for him, whether that’s a busy family who can give him plenty of attention or an older/retired person or couple who are looking for a loving companion.
This is an extremely difficult decision for us and we will be very sad to see him go. We are not looking to pass Woody on to just anyone. His new home is incredibly important to us, and we’d like to make sure he goes somewhere where he’ll be loved, cared for and given the companionship he needs.
Woody will come with:
* 🥣 His food bowl
* 🏠 His crate (that was given to us by famiy)
* 🦮 Two leads and harness
* 🐕 His collar
* 🛏️ His bedding (which I can wash before he goes but I would recommend just buying a new one)
* 💉 Vaccine paperwork
* 📋 Microchip details
His microchip will need to be transferred into the new owner’s details through Identibase. I believe they do charge for this as we had to pay a fee to transfer ownership when he was a pup.
If you feel you could offer Woody the loving, attentive home he’s looking for, or if you have any questions, please feel free to message me. ❤️
May be able to bring him to you depending on location
