Winter in Ukraine is harsh—but for LAURA, last winter was more than cold. It was dangerous, heartbreaking, and filled with loss.
She once had a home—a family who cared for her, adopted from local volunteers in the frontline town of Kupyansk (Kharkiv region). But when war came in their town, everything changed. Her home was destroyed, the street turned to rubble. No one came back. No one knew what happened to the people she loved.
LAURA remained. On an empty street, surrounded by destruction, she waited. She stayed where love once lived. But love had vanished—and so we came for her. Volunteers risked everything to evacuate her to safety.
Now, she is safe in foster care in Western Ukraine hoping that love will find her again.

LAURA is the kind of dog who lights up every room she enters. She greets humans with instant trust, gently asking for cuddles and scratches, pressing her head into your hand with eyes full of gratitude.
She is housetrained, quiet at home, and relaxed around both cats and other dogs. At her foster home, she’s a dream guest—polite, obedient, and happy to coexist. But she also doesn’t mind being the only pet. She’s not clingy, just quietly devoted.
LAURA loves her walks! She walks beautifully on the lead, with that calm grace only dogs who have known hardship carry. Outdoors, she’s cheerful and curious, never frantic or wild. Indoors, she’s well-mannered and serene, with a gentle enthusiasm that feels like sunshine.
No aggression. No trauma flashbacks. Just a loving, trusting heart, ready for her forever.
