We're having to sell our 2 very loved black headed caiques Sonny & Bear. We bought Sonny in March then Bear in May - They're brothers but were separated at the shop, we worked hard to re-introduce them and then house them which is going great. They play / preen each other. Unfortunately Sonny has taken a disliken to us both and sadly have to admit that we're not a good fit for them since we're unable to let them freely due to him biting us.
We would love nothing more than them going to a home where they can roam around freely and have a good happy home.
They wolf whistle amongst other tunes / noises but don't speak. They're quick learners, Bear was quite shy and not hand tamed to us just yet but has been stepping onto a perch no problem and goes back in their just as good. They get a mixed diet of seed / pellets, veggies, fruit treats and other treats (they love red pepper, walnuts, orange and apple).
We noticed Bear had an overgrown beak when we brought him home, he has since been taken to a specialist to get this trimmed down.
We're so sad that Sonny has decided we aren't for the family for him as they're great little parrots, and it's been so interesting getting to learn about them and interact with them.
