💔 Rescue Story / Background Circumstances
🐶 Honey has had a difficult past. She previously lived with a family member who struggled with alcoholism and night terrors, during which Honey was reportedly thrown down concrete steps and later left outside during storm😢💔. She was taken in by her current keeper to rehabilitate her, rebuild her confidence and prepare her for a more suitable long-term home.
For nearly three months, Honey lived peacefully alongside other dogs, including an old small dog. Sadly, once she had incident where Honey snapped at old boy , but we believe she got anxious and scared as it was at night and she was already a sleep in her crate with doors opened. There had been no previous incidents, no history of aggression, and the dogs had been left together safely before.
🐾 More About Honey
Honey is a very affectionate dog, but also sensitive and does best with structure and calm handling. She responds well to routine, enjoys walks, and settles nicely indoors. She is incredibly loving with all people, enjoys physical closeness, and will happily relax near her person once she feels secure.
She is friendly with people and never shown any signs of aggression. Around other dogs, she can communicate her discomfort if boundaries are pushed, which is why careful management is essential. She walks well with correction and is confident outdoors. Due to past trauma, she can be uncomfortable with sudden handling around her collar, but she does not react aggressively — she simply needs patience and understanding.
🏡 Ideal Family
Honey needs an experienced, calm household with adults or older teenagers only. She would be best as an only dog, or potentially with a confident, calm large dog following careful introductions. She cannot live with small, elderly or frail dogs.
A home with structure, routine and clear guidance will suit her best, ideally with a secure garden. Honey does not need constant stimulation — she needs consistency, stability and someone willing to advocate for her needs.
🩺 Health Information
Honey is vaccinated, microchipped and had flee and worm treatment. Had dental treatment. She been spayed and had 2 lumps on mamarry glands removed successfully. Also had a sore removed from her elbow from when she was thrown from stairs 😞🐾💔 Doesn't require any further treatment
