Beautiful African Pygmy Dormice (Micro Squirrel).
I have grey and brown parents who have produced brown and grey babies. My parent Dormice do let you hold them and will sleep in cupped hands. They will take food from you and come to the front of the tank to watch you, watching them!
These fascinating little creatures will need to live in a terrarium or tank as they will escape through the bars of a cage. I have included a photo of my set up to give you some ideas but please do your research.
They will need to be fed on a variety of food including hamster mix and bird seed but also fresh fruit, nuts, cheese, maple syrup and eggs.
The Dormice will need to be kept in pairs or trios as they are sociable little animals.
I can include a care sheet for you.
