Description
Ted is a 12-year-old little gentleman who is simply a joy to have around. He lives happily alongside other small dogs and truly enjoys their company, making him ideally suited to a home with another friendly dog.
Ted is very clean and has a well-established routine. He goes outside first thing in the morning and then happily announces that it’s time for breakfast — often with a song and a little dance. His cheerful personality brings smiles to everyone around him.
Ted can be protective of his crate, which is his safe space, and he can be a little wary of men at first. However, once he understands that everything is okay, he will gently come forward for affection. He is a devoted little soul who likes to stay close and often follows his carer from room to room.
Ted is blind in one eye and has very limited vision in the other, so he needs a special, understanding home where he will be given time, patience, and reassurance. He has a small night light to help him find his crate in the dark, which works well for him. Because of his age and vision, he likes to rest in his crate and watch the world go by, coming out when he feels comfortable — something that suits him perfectly.
This perfectly behaved little lad asks for very little in return: a gentle cuddle, a tasty treat, and a calm, loving environment. Ted is not looking for much — just a safe, caring home where he can live out the rest of his life surrounded by kindness, understanding, and love. 💙
His Story
While visiting the shelter in Romania on the final day of our trip to check on two of our dogs already in care, we met Ted. He was in the incubation unit and immediately caught our attention. He looked old, frail, and deeply sad.
We could not bear the thought of Ted spending the rest of his days in a shelter housing more than 1,000 dogs, so we knew we had to bring him to the UK. Thankfully, we were able to secure him a wonderful foster home, where he is now receiving the care, comfort, and love he so clearly deserves.
