Description

We are reluctantly looking for a new home for our 1 year old Patterdale X Border Terrier, Ned. We have had Ned since he was 8 weeks old and we also have a 12 year old female Patterjack. Since January my husband has had a change of job and now works away for weeks at a time which leaves me with 3 children and 2 dogs to look after. I have been really struggling to give Ned the time and exercise that he needs and I feel that he would benefit from a home that can offer him more time, walks and training. Ned has always been fine with our other dog, they play often until she tells him she's had enough! He was always fine with other dogs in the earlier days but he has gone for a few dogs in the past 6 months or so, so ideally needs to be on a lead if there are other dogs around. He hasn't yet been castrated as I kept hearing that this can sometimes make their behaviour worse so I opted for the "chemical castration" advised by the vet where an injection is given that releases the same hormone as if the dog has been castrated so you can see how they would act and it only lasts up to 6 months. I feel that he seems a bit more snappy at other dogs since he has had this. We will only let Ned go to the right person/people and it would have to be someone who has the time to give him what he needs. Ned is such a lovely, clever dog and our whole family will really miss him. He is microchipped and is up to date with his vaccinations.
