Tieka is an absolutely lovely dog. I’ve had her since she was 8 weeks old and she’s never left my side since. Unfortunately, my family and I are relocating to California in November and are unable to take her. She is the absolute best dog I’ve ever had. She’s 9 years old, in fantastic health, LOVES nothing more than to cuddle and follow you around, and is the most loyal dog you’ll ever have.
She is spayed and has never had any children. She’s very shy with new people but is very friendly once she’s gotten acquainted. With most people, she has to see them a few times (usually 2-3) before she decides she wants to finally go up to you. You can usually win her over with treats and pets.
She loves sticking her head out of the window during car rides, running on the beach, and being outside in general. She is a bit older so can’t be left out too long if it’s overly hot. On a nice day, she’ll stay outside in your garden with you all day if you want. She’s very friendly with other dogs, and is very relaxed, aggressive, however will stand her ground and snap or growl if pushed too far. This happened a handful of times when she first met her other two companions (2 dachshunds) when they tried bullying her and stealing her food. They quickly learned and they’ve been fine ever since.
She’s well trained, never has any accidents in the house, and will be very vocal if she needs to go to the bathroom (she’ll bark very loudly and go near the door). She will not rip up anything in your house and knows most other basic commands. She’s also very calm when being bathed, although you might have to lock her in the bathroom to get her started.. she’s also exceptional at the groomers and is always a favorite at doggy daycares.
I never thought I’d have to give her up, especially after having her this long, so it’s so important to me that she finds a home with someone who can spend a lot of time with her and give her a great life. Someone who she’ll be with for the rest of her life. Please reach out with any inquiries - we’d love to meet you!
