Puppies are not docked and Dewclaws are intact as they play a role in stabilizing a dog's leg during movement. Removing them can potentially increase the risk of carpal (wrist) arthritis later in life due to increased strain on the joint. This is because the dewclaw helps to prevent the leg from twisting excessively, and without it, the carpus may experience more torque and stress, leading to joint damage over time
