Description

Due to our circumstances of needing to move, I am looking for home for a few of my dogs. They will only go to homes where they will get the best for their needs. Fern & Meg Both 6.5 years old (Nov & Dec 2018). Both spayed. Wouldn't suit farm work, not had enough exposure to stock (3 yrs of no stock). They can go together or separately. These 2 girls mean an awful lot to me. They are the start of my line and from a long line of our friends and my grandfathers dogs woven in. •Meg (Black tri) could go to a home with a dog where they aren't in her face and the household are to have their wits. She's a very quick (and I mean QUICK) dog. If a dog were to get into her face, touch her or in her little bubble, she doesn't give warning! She's great with our labradors, but ours aren't bouncy. Lead - doesn't pull, mainly on slip lead. She's also quick on her feet. Possibly a good Cani-cross dog as she can pace herself well. She would be a fabulous pet for older people, retired or not. Children - I wouldn't place her in a home with kids, she's a bit unsure and I'd rather not put her in a situation with small kids. Children around 12 upwards I would be happy with. Cats - She get obsessed with our cat, she's not touched her, but I wouldn't put it past her to take a nibble to get a reaction from her. Meg is very reaction based but only certain beings (animals only) she obsesses with. If they are boring, she ignores them. Sheep & fowl - fowl she ignores. Sheep she's worked about 4 times, doesn't worry or chase them, very nice to them but she won't take off after them. Not a failed sheepdog, just never had the work in the first place. She is a nice calm girl, I think she's great but it's taken me a while to understand her. She is our type of dog 100%. On whistle to come back. Vaccinated Nov 2024 £400.00 (to cover spay) •Fern (Red Tri) has to go to a home where she will be the only dog. This is the best thing for her and also the household as there would be too many problems arise if the household were not to have their wits about them and I am not putting her in this situation. She doesn't seek to be nasty, but is very bitchy when she feels like it but only towards dogs. Children - We have had her with my cousin's little boy (aged 4), she was very calm and gentle. But then so was the child. Lead - Doesn't pull, mainly on slip lead. She absolutely loves people and will happily go on hikes and just genuinely want to be with you. She's a nice calm girl, about 20 inches to shoulders, heaviest (when she's fat) she's weighed in at 20kg. She will also fetch a ball and bring back to hand as well as tug if you'd like her too. She's only done low jumps and tunnels in agility. She is Kennel trained and about 90% house trained. I'd expect her to surf the counters and would advise to crate her when not there (without a collar). She has an armchair in her Kennel (her Throne), hasn't done any damage to it at all. We have a cat and fowl, she's not worried by these at all and doesn't seek to chase or cause harm to them. Been to sheep around 10 times, last being about 3 years ago. She won't take off after them without encouragement. She hasn't been trained to bring them back, only push away (drive). Fern could do well at Cani-cross or things like that as well as just be a pet. On whistle to come back. Vaccinated Nov 2024 £400.00 (to cover spay)
