PLEASE READ THE FULL ADVERT! We are looking for a suitable foster home for a partially disabled 10 month old border collie puppy. Short or long term. Minimum foster period 4 weeks.
He will hopefully be having surgery in January/February and once recovered he will be able to find a permenant home.
Pluto has joint abnormalities in his front legs and is currently under orthopedic vets for investigations and potentially surgery. Two vets have told us it's a miracle he is walking and running and seems mostly pain free! They also commented on what a lovely temperament he has and how easy he is to handle and examine even with his abnormalities.
Pluto is a very loving puppy, and especially calm for his breed. He is house trained, crate trained and mostly harness/lead trained. He loves his toys and a comfy bed. He loves cuddles and play time. His exercise is restricted outside the house to 15 minutes a day. He loves other dogs. He's fine with cats and small animals in hutches.
He needs someone to love him, socialise him and continue his training while he's growing and waiting for a surgical plan. We will cover ALL veterinary fees and provide his food. We will also provide a weekly allowance towards his upkeep.
Ideally you will -
Live within Hampshire UK
Have a secure garden
Have another friendly confident dog for company
Have experience training young dogs
Have plenty of free time, he shouldn't be left for more than 4hrs a day
ANY CHILDREN IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD MUST BE OVER 10.
We will -
Provide ongoing support and advice
Cover his vets bills
Provide his food, harness, lead, collar and toys
Arrange holiday cover
Provide puppy classes
Meet with you regularly to discuss his progress
Take him to all his orthopedic appointments
