Description

This poor lad has had a rough time at the shelter and was sadly one of our longest residents but it’s taken some time for our lovely vet to get to the bottom of Ron. Ron has been incredibly skinny and struggled to put on weight at the shelter, he had sores on his body where his bones stuck out so much. It’s sadly not too unusual for dogs to put on weight with the stress of a shelter but Ron was different and so he’s been closely monitored for months now. He’s now being treated for hypothyroidism and is on low doses of medication and has finally put on some weight! We’re all so pleased for him, he’s been worrying us silly for months but we’re so pleased he was finally well enough to travel to UK foster. Ron has slotted in very well to home life. He’s a gentle, friendly boy and his foster dad describes him as the perfect dog! He’s well balanced and very respectful with other dogs he meets as well as new people and children. He’s a well balanced dog who, despite everything he’s been through, has taken everything in his stride. He sleeps through the night and has picked up toilet training very easily. He loves his food, including his favourite duck treats, and his diet is being slowly expanded to try some new things for him but happily, he hasn’t shown any signs of an upset tummy since arriving in the UK despite the long trip. Ron is currently an only dog but can live with other dogs or children too. For more information and to apply go to sebpra.org and fill in our online application form.
