Description

Our sweet boy Loki is amazing indoors, super quiet and doesn't react to household noises like the hoover, washing machine or TV etc. I work from home and he will just sit/sleep next to me all day. Is house trained and crate trained. Also takes himself to bed at night around 9 - 9.30pm. Sleeps through until around 7.30 - 8am. Sometimes barks when he hears the doorbell but this is not problematic for me. Loves his food and is much more agreeable when you have a stinky treat available. Plays beautifully off lead in a dog park and adores other dogs. Why do I want to re-home him? Loki has mega anxiety with the outside world. He has zero recall so has to be on a lead at all times outside of our secure garden or dog park. While on a lead he will bark and lunge, often times at thin air. He is triggered by buses, cars, cycles, scooters, occasionaly people and all dogs when he cannot go and meet them. Although we have been working through programs to reduce Loki's reactivity, his lunging has started to hurt my back and shoulders. We live in a built up area next to a huge hospital with lots of traffic and other dog walkers so it's incredibly difficult to train in a distraction free zone. He truly needs someone with a big garden or that lives in a more rural area where he will not face so many of his triggers every day. Also knowing how much he loves other dogs, he may be better suited to living with another dog which is something we are in no position to provide. He cannot live with cats or small furries. Free to the right home.
