Small, young, and far too gentle for the world she was left in, Nomi found herself alone when she needed protection the most. Abandoned and confused, she didnāt understand what she had done wrong. One moment there were familiar voices and footstepsā¦ and the next, there was only emptiness.
Nomi didnāt cry for help.
She didnāt run far.
She simply stayed close, trembling, watching every shadow and soundāhoping the people she trusted would come back.
They never did.
Days passed slowly. Hunger came. Cold nights followed. Fear settled deep inside her tiny body. Yet even in those moments, Nomi never showed aggression or anger. Instead, she shrank into herself, quietly surviving, learning how to be invisible in a world that had forgotten her.
When rescue finally came, Nomi didnāt know whether to trust it. Her body shookābut she allowed herself to be touched. She leaned in gently, as if whispering a question she was too afraid to ask: Is it safe now?
