We are sadly looking to find a loving, suitable new home for our beautiful 14-week-old African Grey parrot. We have only had her for two weeks, having purchased her from a pet shop. We originally went into the shop looking for a bird or parrot that would be suitable around children. Unfortunately, we feel we weren’t given the proper advice about the needs, size and temperament of an African Grey, and having had her home, we have become concerned about the potential risks around our 3-year-old child. We have come to realise that we should have started with a much smaller bird, and we feel it is in everyone’s best interests to find her a home that is better suited to her needs. She is a gorgeous, funny and loving little character with a big personality already! She is very confident, making lots of noises and beginning to try to mimic sounds. She eats really well and settles down beautifully, making her a lovely bird to spend time with. A little more information about her: * 14 weeks old * DNA-tested female * All relevant CITES documentation/certification provided * Confident, vocal and starting to mimic * Excellent appetite * Settles down and winds down really well * Funny, affectionate and full of character We paid £2,750 for her and are hoping to recoup as much of this as possible. We are therefore looking for offers very close to the asking price, although we are open to discussing a sensible, close offer with the right person. We can potentially offer delivery depending on the distance. This is a very difficult decision, as she is a lovely bird and we want nothing but the best for her. Her new home and long-term well-being are very important to us. We would love to find someone with the time, knowledge and experience to give her the care, attention and environment an African Grey deserves.
