Description
Meet Billy š¾
Billy is an adorable 4-year-old bundle of fun. A French Bulldog by breed and a true Frenchie by natureāfull of personality, cheeky charm, and joy.
Jokes aside, heās had a really rubbish few months. Iām currently fostering him alongside Bree, my 7-year-old XL girl, and Ronnie, my 17-year-old Jack Russell. If I had the space, Billy would be staying with me without question.
Billy hasnāt been mistreated in the slightest, but he has experienced neglect due to heartbreaking circumstances. His owner lost his mother and sadly became addicted to drugs. Billyās world changed dramaticallyāhis best human became weak and vulnerable, routines disappeared, exercise stopped, and lots of unfamiliar people came and went.
Because of this upheaval, Billy became anxious. That said, Iām confident this will ease significantlyāheās already done a complete 180 since joining our calm, structured household.
Full disclosure: before coming to me, Billy had started toileting indoors. Since being here, heās had one poo inside and a couple of wees, but as long as he has regular walks and access to a garden, he toilets outside with no issue. I use male nappies while heās indoors (the same one on and off for outdoor trips), and most of the time it stays completely clean. These are mainly to protect my home, and with routine, consistency, and regular exercise, Iām confident this will stop entirelyāand soon.
Billyās manners arenāt the best yet. He doesnāt always sit when told or acknowledge his name, but he is improving. I believe he previously had very little structure or respect for humans. Thatās already changingāhe listens to me and is learning quickly.
Billy loves other animalsāsometimes a little too muchābut when another dog tells him to back off, he listens immediately. He reads dog social cues well and just wants connection.
Billy is a good dog whoās had a rough chapter. With stability, patience, and love, heās proving just how wonderful he can be.
