This has not been an easy decision, and rehoming our much-loved family dog is something we have thought about very carefully. Please read the full description before enquiring, and please do not enquire unless you have experience with dachshunds. Meet Rolo, a 9-month-old male dachshund. Rolo is a very loved member of our family and is a wonderful, affectionate dog. He is fantastic with children of all ages and gets along well with other dogs. Rolo loves his walks, adventures, cuddles, and snuggling under a blanket. Like many dachshunds, he can be stubborn at times, but he is also incredibly loving, loyal and full of personality. Rolo’s main requirement is a home where he can have plenty of company. He can be left for short periods, but he is best suited to someone who is home most of the time rather than someone working long 9–5 hours. Due to having a newborn baby, we sadly cannot give Rolo the time, attention and companionship he deserves. Our priority is finding him a home where he will receive the love, patience and care that we know he needs. We are looking for someone who understands the dachshund breed and can give Rolo the wonderful life he deserves.

Extremely affectionate and loyal little dogs

Very intelligent Dachshunds learn quickly and know how to please

Fun-loving and playful by nature

Energetic and feisty Dachshunds like to be kept entertained

Cons

Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own

Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints

They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise

The breed is known to suffer from quite a few health concerns so vet bills can be high and why pet insurance is so important for anyone owning a Dachshund
