๐ถ LIZA, a 1.5-year-old miniature dachshund cross, is a delicate treasure. Sheโs endured unimaginable hardship yet remains a sweet and tender soul, ready to embrace the love of a family. She is currently settled in a fosterers in Scotland. ๐พ๐๐

DOGS: Good with all dogs; enjoys calm, friendly companions. She likes to keep a little distance until she gets to know the dogs.
CATS: Barks at cats from the garden. Not sure at closer range. Fosterer has ducks and Liza has no issue sharing her space with them.
CHILDREN: Good with dog-savvy children aged 7+. Currently in a home with an 8 and 12 year old.

๐ถ LIZAโs story is one of unthinkable terror and miraculous survival. She lived in a quiet village with an elderly woman who had a heart for rescuing the smallest and most vulnerable stray dogsโthose too fragile to fend for themselves. But one day, a devastating tragedy unfolded. The womanโs adult son, who had struggled with schizophrenia but had been stable for years, experienced a catastrophic breakdown after heavy drinking. His anger exploded into violence, first directed at his mother, whom he chased from their home with an axe. With his mother out of reach, his fury turned toward the tiny, innocent dogs. When the police arrived, they found a horrifying scene: five dogs had been killed, their remains scattered. Yet, miraculously, LIZA and a few of her companions had managed to hide, trembling but alive. ๐๐ญ
Rescue volunteers were contacted immediately and rushed to the scene, saving the surviving dogs. LIZA was among them. Despite the nightmare she endured, her gentle, loving nature remains unbroken. Now safe, LIZA is ready to find the kind, patient family she so deeply deserves. ๐๐

๐ถ LIZA is deeply human-oriented and adores nothing more than cuddles. Though she can be a little shy at first, she quickly warms up with patience and care, blossoming into an affectionate and loyal companion. Her calm demeanor makes her a joy to be around.
Sheโs well-behaved indoors, fully housetrained, and walks beautifully on a lead. LIZA gets along well with other dogs and would thrive with a calm, friendly canine companion to help her navigate her new world and gentle, dog-savvy children aged 7+.

Liza has such an adorable character that she can wrap the hardest heart around her little finger. Her current foster carer says, โ Liza is such a terrific dog. Considering what she has been through, she is a little star. Due to her past trauma, she needs to learn who is in charge and that she no longer has to be. Once she knows this, she settles very well. She needs firm rules to start with. We are a lively family with one adult, 2 kids and ducks, she gets on well with us all. If people come to the house or if we are out of walks, or with other dogs she likes to keep a little distance until she knows she is safe. We have found her an easy, loving dog who keeps us entertained with her fun nature. โ

๐ถ LIZA is fully healthy. Spayed. Has all core vaccines done and is microchipped. All dogs are C.Brucella tested before the trip (owners will receive a licensed laboratory test certificate).
