RONA is a gentle, loyal, medium-sized 4.5-year-old girl with a soft heart and a story that would make anyone weep. With only one eye and a heart full of trust, she stands quietly and looks at you with all the hope in the world.

💔 Rescue Story:
RONA was found near an abandoned summer cottage in Ukraine, clinging to life with her two remaining puppies, Rudy and Ravi. All three dogs bore the same mark of pain – one eye cruelly damaged, likely at the hands of someone who should have protected them. The neighbours said a homeless man who struggled with alcohol had been staying there for a short time, and Rona and her puppies had stayed close to him for food and comfort.
No one knows where the others in her litter went. When the man disappeared, RONA and her two pups were left behind, forgotten by everyone but each other. Despite everything – abandonment, suffering – RONA never gave up on people. She still trusts. Still believes. Still hopes.
It’s incredible, really, how dogs like RONA continue to forgive and love. As if it’s written in their bones to stay by our side no matter what. RONA stands quietly now, looking up at those who pass with her one good eye – not asking for anything, just hoping someone might stop, kneel down, and offer her a gentle touch.
💕 Detailed Information:
RONA lives now in a busy foster home with many other dogs. She gets along well with them, is peaceful, calm, and keeps to herself unless invited to play. But it’s humans she seeks most – she adores people and softly asks for affection. She won’t push or bark – she just stands there, still, hopeful, quietly asking for love.
She’s very loyal, trusting, and incredibly grateful for even the smallest gesture of kindness. She’s already housetrained, used to life indoors, and gentle in all she does. With respectful children over 8 years old, she will be a quiet and comforting presence.
🏡 Ideal Family:
RONA would love a quieter household with or without another friendly dog, and where someone is around much of the time to keep her company. She would love a garden where she can bask in the sunshine and explore softly as she always lived with a garden.
She’d be a wonderful match for a calm adult home or a family with dog-savvy older children. Someone who will stroke her fur, whisper gentle words, and help her believe that she’s finally home for good.
❤️ RONA has suffered more than most, and yet she still stands with her one eye shining, asking for love. If your heart has room for a soul as forgiving and gentle as hers – if you believe in giving second chances to those who never gave up – then maybe RONA is your dog.
