Description
We have made the decision to re-home our boy Casper. He is 4 years old but we didn't meet his mum and believe he may have been given to us younger than 8 weeks after his first vet visit in 2022.
We're rehoming him as we live in a 1 bed flat upstairs on a main road so he lives permanently indoors. His behaviour and stress levels have become unmanageable for us and we believe he would be happier in a larger home and becoming an outdoor cat overtime.
He's not always challenging. Casper has a quirky but intelligent personality. You can see him giving his paw for a Dreamie treat in one of the images. He can also high five for a treat and providing he's in a loving mood will give you a kiss when asked "give me a kiss". He loves rubbing on his owner dad's beard, he loves wrapping himself in towels and is obsessed with contemplating life in the mirror. He also enjoys cuddles from his favourite owner, loves a good head/chin scratch and often likes to be around us.
Casper has had a history of urinary problems and stress is a large factor to this. These problems developed in May 2024 and since then he has been prone to urinating around the flat as well as in his litter trays.
He does have an aggressive side and is known for swatting with his claws out if he is stressed out or not in a loving mood. He's not very good at removing himself from the situation when he doesn't want you near and will instead use aggressive tendancies to show he is unhappy.
He also shows a lot of boredom traits regardless of playing and we think this is due to lack of room in our home.
I think the ideal home for Casper will be a pet free home (we got a kitten a year ago to see if it would help but it has not), an outside space for him to explore and an owner(s) that are very patient, calm and willing to put the time and love into him to give him a full and enriched quality of life. The house move will stress him out so having time to settle him in your home would the ideal situation.
We're more than happy to answer any questions and arrange a visit with him before an adoption decision is made. I don't want to make any money from rehoming him, I just want him to have a lovely life that he deserves.
