🐾 Muffin – 2-year-old Lhasa Apso | Fostered in Gloucestershire 🐾
Muffin is a beautiful little Lhasa Apso who came into our care following the very sad loss of her owner.
Understandably, her whole world was turned upside down.
When Muffin first arrived, she was on high alert – nervous of sudden noises and bangs, and clearly overwhelmed by so much change.
As we’ve seen so many times before, kindness, patience, gentle reassurance and (of course) lovely treats worked their magic. Within days she began to realise she was safe, and she quickly became my little shadow and best friend.
She was initially unsure of my husband, which we believe is simply due to having lived a very sheltered life with a female owner rather than anything negative with men. Given time and consistency, she has come on beautifully and now happily demands to sit on his lap!

Muffin has truly blossomed into the bonniest little dog. Her personality shines more each day – she is fun, cheeky, and full of life. She has started playing with the bigger dogs and absolutely loves being out and about on walks.
Off lead, she runs freely with the wind flying through her long hair like a little film star! Despite her size, Muffin is not a lap-dog-only type – she adores the outdoors and will happily walk and run for miles.
Even the rain does not put her off

Meeting another gang of dogs

She enjoys pottering in the garden, “helping” with the chores, and playing with her foster sister. At home, she is affectionate and will cry to be lifted onto your lap for cuddles. She sleeps well through the night and is clean in the house.
Muffin is still cautious around new people and will initially stand back, but she now sits nearby, watching with a waggy tail.
This will continue to improve with time – she simply isn’t used to meeting lots of new people. She can be a little worried when travelling but is never sick, and we expect this to improve as her confidence grows.
The home we are looking for Muffin
Muffin needs a calm, adult-only home where she can continue living her very best life: countryside walks, off-lead freedom, pottering in the garden, followed by cosy snuggles in the evening.
Another dog would be wonderful for her. She loves other dogs and enjoys playing, and a similar-sized canine friend for zoomies and companionship would be ideal – although this is not set in stone for the right home.
No problem being the smallest in the gang

We do feel very protective of Muffin. She will attract a lot of interest because she’s a cute, fluffy little dog – but she is so much more than that. She deserves a home that understands her, gives her time, and values her wonderful character.
Muffin does not have a nasty bone in her body. She is gentle, loving, and truly deserving of the perfect forever home.
