Loki is an absolutely amazing dog, he's gentle, loves cuddles and loves a good run.
He's great with kids of all ages (he's great with my niece and nephew 1 and 3 years old), he loves being with other dogs, and loves basically any human being - he's not too great with cats but he can get used to them with some careful supervision during the first few meets.
We've decided to post Loki for adoption as we're no longer able to give him the attention he needs since we're out of most of the day for work.
Loki has two modes - couch potato all day or absolute zoomies off leash, he doesn't really mix the two and is very happy doing either, ideally when someone is around as this is where he's most happy.
He's very good off-leash at any park, forest, hike or beach - his recall is very good but can sometimes be flaky if there's another dog he needs to say hello to within a short distance (especially other Whippets).
An ideal home for Loki would be:
- Someone that is around for at least more than half the day (he loves company)
- There's another Whippet or any other dog in the household (not necessary but this would be a strong plus)
- Someone that enjoys cuddling a 4-legged friend
Training
- He's never had an accident at home since being potty trained (~5 months age)
- He's good recall off-leash
- He's almost there with heel walking
- He doesn't take food off the table
- He loves cuddling on the sofa but if he's told to not get onto the sofa in a new home he simply won't
- He's crate trained (we have a crate that doubles as a furniture piece and storage for his things that we'd like to give as he likes spending his time there)
- He knows all the basic commands like sit, lay, paw etc..
Health
- He's a very healthy dog
- He sometimes has some reaction to pollen especially during spring where he gets red around the ears, we have a liquid solution we use if he scratches too much
- He's chipped
- He's fully vaccinated and never missed a booster
- He's been neutered at 12 months old
- He's been on Lily's kitchen food his whole life
