Description
Albie is 3 years old and located in central London.
He is the size of a small Labrador and has the temperament of a lazy shepherd.
While Albie doesn’t have the stamina of a Collie, he learns as fast as one and loves nothing more than showing his tricks and learning new ones, often mastering them in just a few minutes.
On the day to day, Albie loves company and will enthusiastically follow you around while paying very close attention to what you may be up to.
He is a very cuddly dog and will always look for body contact when possible, whether that’s sleeping at your feet while you’re working, or sitting between your legs while you watch TV. That being said, Albie has no problem being left alone in the house for a few hours, usually his best chance for a deep slumber.
Albie can on occasion be fearful of strangers, especially when unsettled, unwell or anxious, he has been working on this with his current owners and continues to need guidance and support, however more often will adopt strangers instantly as friends and look for cuddles!
Albie seems to be at his happiest surrounded by dogs, of all size and genders, whether that’s for long walks or playdates. Albie has a good recall and is very food motivated, which makes him easy to manage on walks, even in busy parks. Albie is also muzzle trained for going to the vet or experiences that he could find stressful or scary.
Over the past two years, Albie has been living in central London, and while he is not a fan of crowded enclosed spaces, he is not bothered by busy streets, buses or crowded sidewalks.
Best home:
Ideally, Albie would suit a quiet home with a regular routine, possibly with another dog, and someone willing to provide the mental stimulation he needs, but without expectations of running a marathon! He hasn’t lived with cats recently, but has successfully learned to cohabit with one during a couple of weekends at a family home, without any issues.
Albie learns quickly, both from positive and negative experiences, so we would recommend an owner with rescue experience who understands how to guide him positively from the start. While Albie has always been friendly with children, he would best suit a home without children.
