Description
His story:
Mocha was rescued from a public shelter / kill station, where his life was in real danger. What he has been through before arriving there, we may never know – but when you look into his eyes, you immediately understand that this little boy has seen far too much hardship.
The shelter life overwhelms him deeply. Surrounded by noise, barking and constant stress, Mocha seems almost frozen in time. He stands quietly, looking around with a sad, resigned expression, as if hoping someone will finally notice him and take him away from all this.
Mocha doesn’t need excitement right now – he needs safety, warmth and peace. He needs a place where his little heart can finally slow down.
📋 Basic information:
📏 Height: approx. 32 cm
⚖️ Weight: approx. 14 kg
🏷 Type:
He appears to be a small mixed-breed dog, possibly with some Dachshund (Teckel) influence, combined with other small local breeds.
Looks & presence:
Mocha’s warm mocha-coloured coat gives him his name – soft, gentle tones that perfectly match his sensitive nature. His body is compact, his ears expressive, but it’s his eyes that speak the loudest: eyes full of longing, vulnerability and quiet hope.
Character:
Mocha is not a fearful dog, but he is clearly deeply affected by his circumstances. He wants connection. He wants to trust. He just needs time – and kindness.
He is gentle, calm and incredibly sweet-natured. Once he feels safe, Mocha shows how loving and affectionate he truly is. He does not ask for much – just reassurance, patience and someone who allows him to blossom at his own pace.
This is a dog who will not rush into life, but who will slowly open up like a flower once he feels protected. And when he does, the bond he offers will be pure, deep and sincere.
Ideal home:
Mocha is looking for quiet, understanding adopters with a big heart for a shelter dog who needs time to “land”.
A calm household, without constant pressure or expectations
People who don’t mind starting small and celebrating tiny steps
A secure, dog-proof garden with solid fencing and safe gates, where Mocha can gently enjoy being outside and regain confidence
In the beginning, he will feel most comfortable staying close to home, enjoying the garden, resting, and simply being
With time and trust, his adopters can slowly help him get used to wearing a secure anti-escape harness and later enjoy gentle walks together
Another calm, friendly dog could be a comfort for him, but it is not a requirement if his humans are patient, present and loving.
A very special note 💛:
Whoever is lucky enough to adopt Mocha will be welcoming an unbelievably gentle, selfless little soul. He tries so hard to connect, to give comfort – even when he himself needs it the most.
Mocha has that rare ****************** of making you feel calm and needed just by being near you. He is difficult to describe, because his sweetness goes far beyond words.
✨ Mocha is not asking for perfection.
He is asking for kindness, patience and a place to finally feel safe.
If you believe your heart and home could be that place for him, please get in touch.
Mocha truly needs to leave the shelter as soon as possible – and begin the life he has always deserved. 💛
