Description
Yumi is a truly sweet and gentle girl, born in March 2022, with a calm presence and a soft expression that instantly puts people at ease. She is one of those dogs whose kindness is visible the moment you meet her – quiet, affectionate and naturally trusting.
Yumi was rescued together with her brother Kenji from a killing shelter. Thanks to timely intervention, both were given a second chance at life. Today, Yumi is safe and lives in a group with several other dogs, where she settles in calmly and confidently. She is used to sharing space, interacting peacefully and moving comfortably within a small dog community.
For adopters who would love to welcome two dogs, Yumi and Kenji make a lovely pair. At the same time, they currently live within a larger group and are not dependent on each other, meaning Yumi can also happily move on to her own forever home without distress.
📏 Size:
Yumi is a small to medium-sized girl, with an estimated shoulder height of approximately 38–40 cm.
In some photos she may appear larger due to camera angle; the video gives a much more accurate impression of her true size and proportions. In reality, Yumi is compact, elegant and very easy to live with size-wise.
🐾 Appearance & possible mix:
Yumi has a beautiful warm red/fawn coat, a compact build and a soft, expressive face. Her tail is carried with a gentle curl, and her ears give her a particularly endearing look.
Based on her appearance and structure, Yumi is thought to possibly be a Welsh Corgi × Shiba Inu–type mix. This is, of course, an educated guess, but her size, colouring, tail carriage and overall look fit this combination very well.
✨ Personality:
Yumi has a very loving, gentle and well-balanced temperament. She is kind towards people, social with other dogs and moves through her environment with quiet confidence. She enjoys human contact, welcomes gentle affection and has a naturally calm way about her.
She is:
Friendly and approachable, comfortable living with other dogs,
affectionate without being demanding.
Yumi is not a dog who seeks attention – she is a dog who offers companionship, loyalty and quiet warmth.
🌳 What kind of home is Yumi looking for?:
Yumi would thrive in a calm, loving home where she is treated as a true family member. She is used to living alongside other dogs and would adapt well to a new household with patient, kind guidance.
A secure garden would be lovely. Important is a home that values gentleness, routine and emotional connection.
💫 Meaning of her name:
Yumi is a Japanese name meaning “beauty,” “gentleness” and “kindness” – a perfect reflection of her nature and presence.
