I have been breeding rare Shetland Poultry for over 25 years. From this years hatch I have a very small number of pullets and cockerels available to clean. spacious and safe set-ups. Shetlands originate from the Shetland Islands and are known as a Land Race. They are hardy and long lived - medium sized chickens. They are correct in almost all colours/patterns. Ideally they should have a 'tappit' (crest of head feathers). The hens lay a blue-green egg. My line produces beautiful Olive Green eggs. The cockerels are extremely attractive and generally good natured with careful handling. They do crow (obviously) but are not overly noisy. As this is a rare breed I am ideally looking for owners with an interest in preserving the breed and who would like to own a breeding trio.
