Meet Rodney:
Rodney is full of character — a quirky, loving boy who builds deep bonds with his people. Once he trusts you, his personality really shines through: he's funny, expressive, and endlessly loyal. We’ve had him since he was 8 weeks old and adore him, but after nearly four years of trying everything to make things work, we’ve come to the heartbreaking decision to find him a home that can better meet his needs.
He thrives in a calm, predictable environment where he can relax and feel safe. With the right person, Rodney will be a truly special companion.
Rodney’s Needs:
Rodney has some significant behavioural challenges and will require a very specific home setup. He is nervous reactive and has shown some aggressive behaviour toward other dogs, children, and unfamiliar people. He has also shown some aggression toward our female dog, and we believe he needs to be the only pet in the home.
He requires:
* An adult-only home (no children, now or in future)
* No other pets
* A quiet, low-traffic environment (ideally away from busy streets)
* A secure garden or enclosed outdoor space
* Walks in quiet areas with careful management (he should be kept away from other dogs and people)
* A calm, experienced owner who understands reactivity and is committed to continuing to manage him safely
Rodney is not a dog who can go to parks, socialise with other dogs, or be taken into busy spaces — but with structure and understanding, he is very affectionate and settled at home.
Health & Care:
Rodney has sensitive skin and can be food fussy as he sometimes has an unsettled belly so he requires a consistent, well routined diet and some ongoing care to manage occasional skin flare-ups. He is otherwise healthy and up to date on vaccinations and preventative treatments.

Why We’re Rehoming:
Rodney’s needs — emotionally, behaviorally, and physically — have meant a highly structured and restricted lifestyle, both for him and for us. Our other dog, a gentle, extra friendly older girl, has not been able to fully relax in her own home, and have experiences that enrich her life and we believe both dogs deserve a better quality of life; unfortunately they are both too vastly different to harmonise.
This decision has been incredibly difficult, but it’s coming from a place of love and honesty. Rodney deserves a home that is built for him, where he won’t constantly be triggered or managed. And our other dog deserves peace.
We will ensure Rodney comes with his favourite toys, and familiar items to help with the transition. We will of course be available for ongoing support and advice.
