Description
5 jewelled lacertas 11th June 2025. last photo shows their colours as they get older. They are an incredible species, very active and full of personality.I would like to give these away for free as they’re left from a previous breeding, they are all healthy eating well and shedding well. No health concerns.
raised with a lot of love and attention, making them an ideal pet, I’m only giving them away due to lack of space as they require a larger enclosure.
I would like them to go to somebody who has previous reptile experience or a willingness to learn. Therefore I will require full set up photos to ensure these guys will be happy and healthy.
Jewelled lacertas known as ocelated lizard, European eyed lizard, Timon lepidus. They require an enclosure/ vivarium of a minimum of 3ft x1ftx1but as they get older will require an upgrade, I have my two adults in a 4ft x2ftx2ft.They need a basking temp of 35degree-45.They need a uvb source to ensure bone health and to mimic their natural environment. They love to climb, you will often see them at all points throughout the day and they are brilliant to watch, they don’t hide like most lizard species.
They need a food source which can include dubia roaches, morio worms, locusts, crickets, other live food which is essential to their diet. They are also omivorous and love fruit such as strawberry’s, grapes, butternut.
Enclosures need to include climbing areas, different levels, dark areas for them to sleep and a large water bowel as they love to swim. They need a 12 hr on and off cycle for their lights and heat and a be cohabed male & female. They are very fast and therefore wouldn’t recommend for a young child, but become very tame over time, my adult male just wants to sit on my head. Let me know if you can provide the perfect home for any of the baby’s.
