Description
Meet Rusty (12/07/2024) – our gorgeous, loving boy looking for his forever home ❤️🐾
This is something we never thought we’d have to do, and it genuinely breaks our hearts, but we want to find the very best home for our lovely Rusty.
Rusty is a beautiful Labrador Retriever with so much love to give. He is such a loving, caring boy who adores his family and has been absolutely brilliant with all of our children. He loves them dearly, and this is what makes this decision so incredibly difficult for us.
Sadly, our circumstances have changed since having four children, three of whom are under three years old. We simply don’t have the time, space or ability to give Rusty the life and attention he deserves anymore. Living in a two-bedroom flat also means we no longer have the space we would love him to have.
🌿 The home we’re looking for
Rusty loves being outdoors, and we would love to find him a home with someone who enjoys getting out and about and can give him plenty of walks, exercise, attention and affection. We feel he would really benefit from a home where he has more opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and receive the time he deserves.
He is good on the lead but can be quite strong and pull, so this is something his new owner would need to be willing to work on with him. Off the lead, he has been brilliant for us and comes back when called. We have never had any problems with him off lead, although, as with any dog, his recall should be assessed carefully in a new environment while he settles in.
❤️ His personality
Rusty is a loving, affectionate boy who means the world to us. He has grown up around our children and has been great with them. He is a much-loved member of our family, and we are absolutely gutted to be looking for a new home for him. He is also brilliant with other dogs!
This isn’t a decision we’re making lightly. We just know that he deserves more time, space and opportunities than we can realistically give him at this stage in our lives.
🐾 Health and care
Rusty is up to date with his routine care. His next flea treatment is due next month (November). We have been following a flea treatment schedule every six months and worming monthly, although his new owner should confirm the appropriate schedule with their own vet.
We want to be completely open and honest with anyone interested in giving Rusty a new home, and we are happy to answer questions about him.
🏡 Finding Rusty’s forever home
Please only get in touch if you genuinely feel you can offer Rusty a loving, stable and permanent home. We want this to be the right move for him, and we would rather take our time finding the right person than rush into anything.
If you’re interested, we would really appreciate a little information about yourself, your living situation, who lives in your home, your experience with dogs and how Rusty would fit into your daily life. We’d love to know what sort of home you could offer him and how you would make sure he gets all the care, exercise and attention he deserves.
We are heartbroken to be doing this, but Rusty’s happiness has to come first. We love him dearly and just want him to have the wonderful life he deserves,
A little personal request ❤️
We would absolutely love to receive the occasional update on Rusty and hear how he is settling into his new home, if possible. Photos and little updates would mean the world to us and help reassure us that he is happy and loved. We know letting him go will be incredibly difficult, but knowing he is getting the life he deserves would bring us so much comfort🐾
A little extra information: Rusty is not neutered, so his new owner would need to be aware of this x
