❤️🐶 ANGIE (was ASYA ) – A Cheeky Little Sunbeam with a Big Heart 🐶❤️ 🏠 LOOKING FOR FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT 🏠 🇬🇧 Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire AL8O 🌟 RBU, post-adoption support, and 4 weeks free PetPlan insurance provided upon adoption 🐶 Meet Angie – a bright, joyful young girl 14 months old, perfect lower-medium size. She's playful, clever, and affectionate – the kind of dog who brings sunshine wherever she goes. Highlights: SIZE: Lower-medium (44 cm shoulder height / 16.5 kg) SPAYED/NEUTERED: Yes CHARACTER HIGHLIGHTS: Playful, Affectionate, Clever, Sociable, Anxious of new people comming DOGS: Good with, but anxious on walks CATS: Good with CHILDREN: Good with Rescue Story: 💔 At just four months old, Angie was dumped in a kill shelter — a place where innocent lives often come to a tragic end. She was lucky to be noticed and saved by volunteers before it was too late. She was living among 18 other dogs in a Foster home. Now she lives with for 2 kids and gets a bit unsure if meeting dogs on walks but we feel with correct introduction she will happily be living with other dogs Current Foster really bonded and likes her unfortunately Angie struggling with here partner especially at evenings when he comes home from work, so Foster feels Angie needs a different home. That's what she say's about her: " Angie is so sweet and has the potential to be a brilliant dog. She is so loyal, clever and has a very kind nature. She is affectionate and paws you for attention, is 100% the most houstrained dog I have ever met and walks nicely on a lead when she is feeling confident. She needs someone experienced who can build trust with her and gradually show her that the world isn’t so scary. She desperately wants to be a part of things but is very fearful of new experiences, and people, and can be reactive towards men. Because of this, she would benefit from living in a calm adult-only house where she can be gradually introduced to new experiences." 🐾 FOOD🐾 She’s currently on a mix of Chappie and Forthglade biscuits (where I have been weaning her onto something better quality) with cooked chicken on top. She is pretty picky with it and tends to only eat if it’s scattered on the floor or in a kong/ puzzle feeder. She doesn’t eat when she’s on her own. 🐾 HOUSETRAINING🐾 She is extremely well house-trained. She only ever goes in one corner of our back garden and has never had an accident. 🐾 OUT & ABOUT 🐾 - I have been walking her twice a day. - We have only taken her in the car once. For a three minute journey to see how she went. She was nervous but settled in the boot and then had a good walk. - She has made lots of progress with her walks. In the first week her tail was always tucked and she would run from other dogs and people or try and hide in the grass. Now she is keen to get to the door to go out when she sees her lead 🙂 She is weary of dogs and people but sometimes goes to sniff them once they have walked past. She did growl at a couple of dogs but this last week she has seemed more confident and slightly interested in them. - She has been more confident when we have been walking out as a family- she prefers being in a pack! - she has seen a cat and some birds on a walk and looked at them and not tried to chase. She does however chase flies! 🐾AROUND THE HOUSE🐾 - she has been destructive and chewed up quite a few of our things, including having a munch on our sofas. I think this is due to 3 different reasons: - she’s just being a puppy - she’s been nervous when left alone, even for 5 minutes when i have gone upstairs - she’s occasionally been a bit overwhelmed when there has been noise in the house and she has picked something up as a comfort. - however she has made some progress with this and has been chewing less in recent days. She now settles well at night in her bed in our kitchen. 💚And when I have had to pop out for an hour or so during the day I have a camera there and can see that she has settled down after two minutes of crying at the baby gate and door. - She is prone to digging and dug up two patches on our lawn. The first time this happened I think it was because she was excitable with the kids out in the garden and the second time I think it was due to boredom as it was on a really hot day when we could only walk her very early in the morning. - she is not at all bothered by a paddling pool or sprinkler! - she doesn’t really seem to know how to play with humans but does really enjoy puzzle feeders and chew toys *PEOPLE* - she seems to quite like my 4yo and actively goes to sit next to him on the sofa. - My husband came down and tried to give her some chicken last night, which she accepted but she is still barking whenever he moves. - she obviously barks at the door and is also scared towards visitors, especially men. - when she does trust you she is incredibly sweet and curls up in the sofa next to you or rolls over and sleeps with her paws in the air! 🐶 Angie is very curious about cats and wants to play, but shows no aggression whatsoever. 🐶 Angie is full of potential – with her intelligence and kind nature, she’ll thrive in a home where she’s guided gently and included as part of the family. Ideal Family: 🐶 Angie would be a wonderful fit for an active family or individual with time to help a young dog grow in confidence. 🐶 Angie is the sort of dog who makes people smile – whether it’s the way she plays, the way she learns, or the way she gently leans into you for a cuddle. She’s had a hard start, but her heart is full of hope. All she needs now is a chance – and someone to give it to her. Health Information: 🐶 Angie is fully healthy. Spayed. Has all core vaccines done and is microchipped. All dogs are C.Brucella tested before the trip (owners will receive a licensed laboratory test certificate).
