Meet Diesel (my Deez the Geez ❤️), a nearly 6 years male Dorset Old Tyme Bulldogge, neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.
I rescued and rehomed Diesel last year July as he was about to be euthanised and I just took one look at his picture and fell in absolute love with him, and knew I couldn't let his little life be snuffed so soon. Diesel didn't come from the very best background in his life, having been treated not very well at all by his previous owner's partner, so inevitably when he came into my care he was very anxious, very scared and very lost. I worked over these last 14 months so extremely hard on this beautiful boy to get him back to his trusting, happy and relaxed safe-feeling self, very quickly forming an incredibly strong bond with him. The only reason I am devastated to have to let him go and have been upset for all the time he's been with me, is because I have another canine (Cane Corso) and two kitties in my home, and Diesel absolutely needs to be an only animal in the home. He experiences food aggression and this makes life quite difficult with having three other babies. I think his food aggression may stem from food punishment in his previous home. Plus Deez deserves to be the only focus in his new forever home.
He is an EXTREMELY intelligent, loyal, cuddle bear, he adores his walks and walks brilliantly on the lead, always happy to be approached and meet other people and dogs when he is out with me and shows no aggression nor barks at other dogs on our trips out. He prefers to do his business on walks so I always walk him three times a day and especially after meals, before bed time or before I may have to pop out briefly and he stays home always happy to behave and chill whilst waiting patiently until I return. I do leave wee pads out for him when I pop out for a short time, as if he needs to go while I'm out, well, he needs to go! He has no separation anxiety at all. He adores to play with toys and ESPECIALLY loves a snuggle under the blanket with me! He loves a good snuggly blanket to always cosy up with!
Diesel eats very well, he loves treats always has a good solid appetite and is not fussy at all he is happy to eat kibble or wet food, I have been feeding him raw and kibble which he adores. He does drink a lot of water!
When Deez was a puppy his tail was broken (I do not know the full story behind how his happened) and the previous owner said that he had been vet and fully health checked and that Diesel does not experience any pain at all, hence the reason his tail was never amputated at the time. He just now as a result lacks hair growing fully on the full length of his tail, bless my lil boy.
I am ultimately looking for a forever home for my beautiful boy with a single lady or possibly even a couple, as it appears to me that he is more trusting with women, mist liley due to his last ill treatment by his previous mum's partner. Preferably a home with children a little older even, as I have a 12 year old lad and Diesel absolutely adores him, he did right from the start. I am not sure how he would be around younger children so I am advising as best as can given purely on what I have experienced with him. Please no kitties or other dogs in the home as he chases the kitties, never aggressively and he has never harmed them at all, but he has gotten into scraps with my big Cane Corso over finding the odd crumb or remaining bit of treat, and this is the only reason I am heartbreakingly having to re-home him, as I worry for his safety with my Cane Corso as she is huge and I worry he will get hurt!
I really want what is best for this beautiful boy, he loves nothing more than to snuggle up to me at bed time and will stay with me all through the night. He is insanely emotionally intuitive, has literally come to me every single time I have shown any signs of upset and stayed with me so he is a very sensitive boy too. Always been my rock during some difficult times I do have to say, so that his potential new forever home really knows what a special boy he really is. He just knows when I'm upset, every single time.
So this is an extremely difficult thing for me to do but I genuinely hope to find him a forever home where he will continue to be treated with absolute love, nurture, devotion and care. As that's nothing less than what I have given him.
Deez does get skin allergy and has sensitive skin but nothing that the right diet and regular luke warm baths with anti allergy doggie shampoo can't continue to maintain.
I am asking for ÂŁ200 for deez but am happy to discuss the price for the right feel forever home.
