Reluctant rehome of our much loved family dog. She is an American staffy/cocker spaniel cross, coming up to 2.5 years. Due to a change in circumstances we are really struggling to meet her needs and after much thought and debate have agreed that she would be better off bringing joy to another family. She is the loveliest dog, impeccably well trained, brilliant with kids - we’ve been told many times she’s the perfect dog! Her recall is excellent, she is fully au fait with sit, stay etc. She has been raised around young children and babies from puppyhood and is extremely loving, patient and gentle - we have never seen her show a single sign of aggression or anything except tolerance and love. She’s also been raised with chickens and has never been aggressive to them either although does enjoy herding them round the garden. Also great with other dogs - she wants everyone to play with her and sometimes takes a bit of reminding that not everyone wants that - but she generally gets the memo!
She has plenty of bouncy spaniel energy and loves a walk, chase, play, ball fetch etc but the staffy side means that she’s also pretty happy to chill at home and nap. She will generally match your energy - will happily hike all day but equally she’s fine with a quick jaunt round the block. She is absolutely fine off lead so we tend to let her have a good run midmorning and that does her quite happily for the day.
She really is the sweetest dog with the loveliest nature, is much loved and will be very missed at home - but currently it’s almost an impossible struggle to meet her needs and it’s just not fair on her. Our hope is that she will find a lovely family who will be the right fit for her and that she can bring them all the joy she’s brought us.
