Fozzie is a beautiful full breed Spanish Water Dog who came to live in Oxford with his family in the summer of 2021- he was a pup who came from a show kennel in Spain.
He has been living with his family in Oxford since then and is well used to young children.
Very very sadly the family are in financial crisis and have asked me to help rehome him through my rescue. Current family children are understandably upset. Additionally Fozzies adopters were struck with life limiting conditions not long after they got him - this meant that he has had little training.
We would like a new family who are not first dog owners and who understand working breeds. Spanish Water Dogs like to round up things, people as it's in their genes.

“Fozzie is a sweet and loving boy who’s grown so much in confidence since he arrived with us. He’s happiest when surrounded by his favourite people in a quiet, calm environment.
He’s loyal to those he knows and loves, but a wary of strangers. Busy places and crowds of dogs can overwhelm him, but he adores peaceful countryside walks where he can sniff to his heart’s content!
At home, he’s a cuddly companion who loves to relax – but he also takes his ‘guard duties’ seriously and will let you know if someone’s approaching the house.
Fozzie responds well to training, and we think he’d make a brilliant second dog who can help Fozzie to be more dog - preferably a female. We think he would be equally happy as an only dog with a secure garden to play and learn in.”
Fozzie deserves a calm, loving home where he can feel safe and continue to blossom. He does need training for recall, sit stay etc so experienced owners would be best for Fozzie.

Fozzie is not neutered on recommendation of the vet however we are open to further discussion about that as different vets have different ideas. He is up to date with his vaccinations. He is used to living with children but we have no feedback on cats. He is currently based in the Oxford area. Visits can be arranged.
If you would like to be considered as being his new family. Please can you initially send some info - how many adults at home ? How many children at home and ages ? Any other pets, type of home and does it have a secure garden? What are the work patterns of the household. Also your dog owning history and willingness to take on a dog that need support and training he missed out on due to no fault of his own.
