Bligh is a three-year-old German Shorthaired pointer. He is friendly, loving, and well-behaved boy who’s ready to find a new home ( thought absolutely NO fault of his own)
He’s house-trained, knows his manners (leave, wait, heel), and has an impressive 95% recall – them birds are just sometimes too tempting – however He is also trained with a beeper collar, so if he wanders too far, a quick beep brings him right back.
Bligh currently lives happily with two children (ages 6 and 7) and a sausage dog and two cats - he loves playing with other dogs.
He’s great off-lead—living in a rural setting, he spends 99% of his time off-leash and is very reliable. He ignores cattle and livestock, though true to his breed, he will happily seek out birds when given the chance.
He enjoys cuddles, playtime, and being part of the action. True to his GSP nature, he’s bouncy and energetic, so he’ll thrive in an active home where he can enjoy plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.
A few quirks to know:
He will chase cats if given the chance (but will leave when called) – there’s often a stampede of Cats, kids and then Bligh in my house.
He’s a cheeky food thief if you’re not paying attention – classic GSP charm!
Ideal Home:
Bligh would suit an active family or individual who loves the outdoors and can give him the time, space, and stimulation he needs (I have no intention to give Blight to just anyone, He is literally the best dog and deserves a perfect home)
Health:
KC Registered, Neutered and healthy, and up to date with vaccinations.
Reason for Rehoming:
The reasons for rehoming are due to no fault of his own.
My personal circumstances have changed (new job) which in hand is meaning more travelling then initially expected. My husband already works shifts, so isn’t around to support as much as I’d like. I’ve tried to keep things going for him for the last 8 months, but I’ve come to the decision that he just isn’t getting the life he deserves.
