Description
Hugo is our Male Standard Dachsund
He is a lovely boy very loving and cuddly once he gets to know you.
We have made the very hard decision to rehome Hugo as we cannot meet his needs any longer, Hugo is a very nervous dog he will continuously bark at strangers and other dogs he prefers to approach you rather than you going straight up to him we think this is because he was attacked as a puppy. Hugo is reactive on his lead so someone who knows what they are doing and are able to spend a lot of time with him to help this. We have a 9 week old baby who he just has not taken to although Hugo has shown no aggression towards our baby he is very jealous of the baby we feel he would be best in a home with no children and someone who can give him a lot of attention. We have had an incident where Hugo jumped into the baby bouncer with the baby in. Hugo is a very energetic dog but also is happy to cuddle up. He is crate trained but could be trained to not go into one, he loves snuggling under a blanket. Hugo is weary of men and prefers women.

Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints
They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise
