Description

FOR ADOPTION - BOJANGLES - BASINGSTOKE Bo is a happy young sighthound mix. This lovely boy was found as a stray, emaciated and with a bad skin. He is now a healthy weight and his coat is glossy. Since his rescue, he has shown himself to be a sweet and happy dog who loves life, food, people and other dogs. He loves to be snuggled up close and likes to be in the same room as you. Bo is 2-years-old, still very puppy like, bouncy and exuberant, he may be a bit too clumsy for very young children. He loves to cuddle up close and will happily sleep once he has had his walk and meal. He really enjoys his food (and is learning that if it isn’t on the floor then it is not his). He is happy to play by himself, throwing Ferdinand his toy fox then chasing and leaping on him. He also indulges in the typical lurcher zoomies. He is house trained and travels well in the car. He doesn’t like to be left much and does whine (but it isn’t too loud). This will probably improve once he is sure that his people will always return. It may also help if he lived with another dog. He is strong and although walks nicely on the lead when alone, he can pull (and leap around in some circumstances) when walking with others. He knows the wait command and has some recall although at the moment it is at very short distances. He has high prey drive which is typical in sighthounds, so he will need continued training. He is eager to please and with reward-based training he learns quickly. He meets people cautiously but after a few seconds relaxes and accepts pets and treats nicely. He seems to like all dogs especially any that look like they will have a game of chase. Bo would suit a home without a cat but would be fine with another dog. He will make a lovely addition to a home who will provide love and security and include him in their activities.
