Arthur the Charmer! This lovely little lad has truly stolen all of our hearts here at the kennels. With his expressive face and those adorable ears perched on top of his head, combined with classic puppy antics and a naturally affectionate nature, Arthur is an outstanding candidate for adoption.
Arthur arrived with his brother Albert, both rescued as young pups from one of Romania’s many high-kill shelters. While Albert was quickly snapped up after arriving in the UK, it’s now Arthur’s turn to find his forever home.
Routine and consistency have been key to Arthur’s progress in kennels. He has settled in beautifully, taking everything in his stride. He enjoys regular walks, activities, and plenty of downtime in between. Arthur is a clever young dog and is picking up positive behaviours quickly, he’s doing brilliantly with crate training, understanding boundaries and thresholds, toilet training, lead work, and basic commands. One of the most important things we’re teaching him is how to “switch off”, which is especially vital at his young age.
Arthur’s ideal home will be committed to continuing the great foundations we’ve laid, ensuring he grows into the fantastic family companion we know he can be.
A home with an existing dog would be a great match for Arthur, offering both a playmate and a role model for home life, provided introductions go well. That said, Arthur would also thrive as an only dog, so long as he has plenty of outlets for his energy. Regular walks are essential. Though small now, we believe he still has some growing to do, so his lead training will need to be maintained.
We haven’t been able to expose Arthur to children while he’s been with us, but given his sweet nature we would say that he could be matched with children around eight, we would consider younger if they have previous dog experience.
We have managed to cat test Arthur and believe that he would be ok in a home with cats, we always advise slow introductions and allowing cats to get to know him in their own time.
Health-wise, Arthur is in excellent condition and has passed all medical checks with flying colours. Originally from Romania, he has been fully tested for tick-borne illnesses and has had UK APHA-approved blood tests for Brucellosis — all clear.
